Downtown Asheville electric bike tour

What kind of tour is this?

Easygoing

We're here to explore Asheville, not qualify for the Tour de France. The electric assist handles the hills while we keep the ride comfortable and fun.

Actually Local

We'll mix Asheville history with architecture, public art, neighborhoods, local stories and the weird little things that make the city interesting.

Small & Personal

We like experiences where people can actually talk to each other. No giant herd, no tour-bus microphone, and no racing through a script.

Guests riding e-bikes through Asheville

Downtown without the uphill suffering.

Asheville is a fantastic city to explore by bicycle. It's compact enough that you can cover a surprising amount of ground, but spread out enough that walking doesn't always get you where you want to go.

E-bikes land right in the sweet spot. You still get the open-air experience of riding a bike, but the motor takes the misery out of the hills.

  • Length: About 2.5 hours
  • Distance: Roughly 10 miles
  • Difficulty: Easy with electric assist
  • Included: E-bike and helmet
  • Location: Downtown Asheville, North Carolina

Why e-bikes?

Because Asheville is built like somebody spilled a city across the side of a mountain.

Electric assist lets us cover more ground without turning the experience into a workout. You still pedal and ride normally, but when the road points uphill you've got a little extra help.

That means more energy for sightseeing, more time exploring and considerably less time wondering why you agreed to ride a bicycle uphill on vacation.

Crazy different elevations create so many lookouts!

As evening settles over the mountains, downtown Asheville takes on a whole different personality — glowing streets, long views and the Blue Ridge stretching out beyond the city.

Our route is about more than checking landmarks off a list. It is about getting outside, moving through town and seeing Asheville from the kinds of viewpoints that make you stop for a minute and take it all in.

Asheville is better when you can wander.

There are plenty of famous things to see here, but some of our favorite parts of Asheville aren't the places with the biggest signs.

It's the architecture. The old neighborhoods. The murals. The mountain views that suddenly appear between buildings. The strange local history. The tiny details you'd never notice from inside a car.

A bike gives us the freedom to move through all of it without feeling sealed off from the city.

Pack Square is amongst our favorite places to hang out!

Pack Square sits right in the heart of Asheville, surrounded by downtown architecture and public spaces. It is also traditionally where many circus performers have practiced their crafts for the last 20 years.
