Josh & Emma.
We started Big Top Adventure Solutions because we wanted something pretty simple: to work for ourselves, do things our way, and spend more time sharing the things we actually love about Asheville. We are former and current circus performers, and we bring that same energy and sense of fun to every bike tour.
We like bicycles. We like strange stories, interesting people, beautiful places and the wonderfully weird personality that makes Asheville feel like Asheville.
So instead of building another ordinary tour company, we decided to carve out experiences that we'd genuinely want to go on ourselves.
A little circus follows us everywhere.
Before Big Top Adventure Solutions, circus performance was already a big part of our lives. Josh has spent years performing, teaching and welcoming people into wonderfully unusual experiences, while Emma brings her own performer energy and sense of adventure to the mix.
We aren't trying to turn a bike tour into a circus show. We just kept the parts we love: making people feel welcome, thinking on our feet, not being afraid to be a little ridiculous and making sure everybody goes home with a good story.
We have a few rules around here.
Have Fun
You're on vacation. Or playing hooky. Or just looking for something different to do. Either way, this is supposed to be fun.
Be Yourself
Asheville has never been particularly interested in being normal. Neither are we. Weird ideas, ridiculous hobbies and interesting people are welcome here.
No Negative Nellies
No irritating bosses. No unnecessary corporate nonsense. No taking ourselves too seriously. Bring a good attitude and we'll take care of the rest.
Why Asheville?
Asheville isn't just a collection of attractions on a map. It's the old buildings, the mountains appearing between city streets, the artists, performers, strange characters, local businesses and little pieces of history hiding in places most people walk right past.
We want our experiences to feel personal. Small groups, real conversations, room to stop and look at something interesting, and guides who actually want to be there.
When we're cruising through town on electric bikes, the idea is simple: try something new, laugh a little and go home with a story.
Life is too short for boring tours.
